The Archdiocesan Byzantine Choir is organizing a Wine Tasting Benefit on November 6, 2014 as they prepare for their historic trip to Constantinople on the occasion of the first ever meeting of Pope Francis and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in the Patriarchate. This meeting will take place during the feast of St. Andrew the First-Called Apostle and will be highlighted by a special performance of our byzantine choir in the ancient 4th century church of Hagia Irini.
The evening will feature traditional Constantinopolitan foods and music in honor of the Patriarch as well as wines from Argentina in honor of the Pope, whose origin is Argentinian. Silent auction items will afford participants the opportunity to support the efforts of the choir and a video presentation highlighting the recent meeting of the Pope and Patriarch in Jerusalem and lasts years historic concert by the choir in Hagia Irini will also be presented. A special live performance by the Archdiocese Byzantine Choir will close the evening.
Please join us for a blessed evening of great food, fellowship, and music!
